Biography of Michael Abramson, the creator of this site.

I am in my early 40′s and live in Florida with my wife and four sons.

I am a recovering Republican who jumped to the Democrat party during the 2008 presidential elections.  I never liked the Republican party and I imagine that that had a lot to do with growing up watching Illinois politics.  It was Ronald Reagan that pushed me to the point of putting an (r) behind my name, though regrettably I never got the opportunity to vote for him.

I have always been a conservative.  Not an Ultra-conservsative, or a neo-conservative, or an arch-conservative.  Simply a right of center conservative.  I discovered this in the late 80′s when I went on soul search for what I believe (I will tell you all the story some other time).

I did not think the Democrat party wanted someone like me.  I am pro-life, Christ-follower, white collar, capitalist, patriot, heterosexual, and still married to the same girl after 20 years.  I do not fit the template that the democrats portray as the America they want.

So, why did I switch?  Two reasons: the Democrat party is a party of action and they know how to win elections.  Translation: they know how to get power and use it when they have it.  Therefore, if I believe that conservative policies are what is best for the US, I had better get with a political party that can get things done.  Simple really.
